AB The responses to measles immunization administered between 6 and 12
months and after 12 months were compared in children with and without
human immunodeficiency virus infection. No difference in response was
found when primary measles immunization was administered between 6 and
12 months; however, children with human immunodeficiency virus infection
had a significantly poorer response when immunization was given after 12
months. Early measles immunization should be considered in children with
human immunodeficiency virus infection.
